Seth’s published position
Seth supports free enterprise and private property. He has also warned that statewide labor mandates can have very different effects on a small Tier 1 county employer than on a large company in an urban market.
The local opportunity
Rockingham County reports 4,759 manufacturing jobs, 3,782 retail jobs, 3,081 health and social-assistance jobs, and 2,137 construction jobs. Recent announcements include TSEA Energy’s first U.S. plant in Eden, projected to create 160 jobs with $25 million in investment, and a Talalay Global expansion in Reidsville projected to create 52 jobs.
District 65 priorities
- Protect scheduled tax relief and review state spending for measurable results.
- Remove unnecessary barriers that make it harder to start, expand, or pass down a business.
- Help existing employers expand, not only recruit new ones.
- Prepare industrial sites and coordinate roads, water, sewer, power, and broadband.
- Connect high schools and Rockingham Community College directly with employers and skilled trades.
- Judge incentives by measurable jobs, wages, investment, and delivery dates.
- Avoid unfunded Raleigh mandates that shift costs onto local taxpayers.
