Seth’s position
Seth supports competitive teacher pay, adequate public-school funding, classroom supplies that do not come out of teachers’ pockets, and facilities that are safe and ready for learning. He supports parents’ right to know what their children are being taught and meaningful educational choices for families.
He also believes education should connect more students to skilled trades, apprenticeships, industry credentials, dual enrollment, and Rockingham Community College.
What is already working
Rockingham County Schools offers career pathways in advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health services, computer science, public safety, and entrepreneurship. Students can earn credentials and use dual enrollment, internships, and apprenticeships. The school system reported a 4.7 percentage-point improvement in proficiency for 2025–26 while acknowledging that progress must accelerate.

- Pay and retain excellent teachers and reduce their out-of-pocket classroom expenses.
- Put literacy, math, discipline, and student safety at the center of school accountability.
- Keep parents informed and involved in educational and health decisions.
- Expand career and technical education, apprenticeships, and dual enrollment.
- Coordinate state funding with the county’s actual facility and workforce needs.
